Conversation Summary
The last three Community meetings have been based on the advocacy training that we have been running. The first was a whirlwind tour through the training led by Bev, the second and third were two really good, thought provoking discussions, which focused on particular aspects.
The second conversation considered how we identify in groups, using a range of different descriptors. We explored the positive and negative ways these can be exhibited and how, as individuals, we adapt and play different roles in different types of groups. We recognised that we each had preferences and tendencies we could unthinkingly fall into without necessarily being aware of them. With the help of a quote from Rabbie Burns “To a Louse” we also explored something of the differences between how we see ourselves and how others see us. And we were reminded that it had just been announced that “Kindness” had been chosen as the Children’s Word of the Year 2024.
The third looked in more depth at using TC on a personal level. So whether you are a thinker, a dominator or a gate-keeper we hope these discussions have encouraged you to weave TC into everyday life and encounter and be a real Friend of TC.

PS Oh and thanks to these discussions, future training will be called Friends of TC, as we feel this gives a better sense of what the training is designed for.
